Swansea Bay Scientific Survey
24th April 2026 – Issued from the Harbour Master
Mariners are advised that the Environment Agency/Briggs Marine are scheduled to undertake a Benthic Survey (grab sampling) between Tuesday May 5th - Wednesday May 20th 2026 in the Swansea Bay area.
Survey vessel will be the Severn Guardian.
The vessel will display lights and shapes in accordance with the International regulations for the prevention of collisions at sea, and will maintain a listening watch on VHF ch77/16.
All vessels are required to keep clear of the above vessel whilst survey operations are being carried out.
Activity includes 70 grabs of the sea bed spread out over 19 sites. Location of the sample sites are included in the attachment.
